Israeli Police Investigate Murder of Indian Worker in Jerusalem, Multiple Arrests Made

An Indian migrant worker, aged 40, was found dead on Thursday in an apartment in Jerusalem's Katamon neighborhood, prompting a murder investigation. Police arrived at the scene with forensic experts and arrested a 31-year-old man from Eilat, a recently released prisoner and relative of elderly people the victim cared for. Jerusalem District Commander, Commissioner Avshalom Peled, visited the scene and ordered the investigation to continue under the district's central unit.

Magen David Adom paramedic Benny Kister reported that the victim was found unconscious, without pulse or breathing, and with bodily injuries, and was pronounced dead at the scene. In the following 24 hours, police arrested two more suspects linked to the case: a 16-year-old female relative of the main suspect, who remains at large, and an 18-year-old man from Elad. Both suspects had their detention extended by the Jerusalem Magistrate's Court.

The police identified the main suspect as 17-year-old Abior Sasson from Jerusalem, who is wanted for involvement in the murder of Binyahu Razi. Sasson was seen fleeing the crime scene wearing a white shirt and black pants. Authorities urged the public to report any information about his whereabouts, warning that aiding him could result in up to three years imprisonment.

Earlier, the court extended the detention of three other suspects: Linor Sasson (50) from Jerusalem, Shilat Huta (19) from Beersheba, and Agam Tzarfati (19), a soldier from Jerusalem and former partner of the victim. Police allege Linor Sasson planned the murder at her home, transported the perpetrators to the crime scene, and obstructed the investigation afterward. She was recently released from prison for fraud and threats, and her husband, Kfir Sasson, has a criminal record including shooting at a police officer.

Additionally, the Police Investigations Department revealed that a traffic policewoman was questioned for allegedly obstructing justice by meeting with Linor Sasson and Shilat Huta shortly after the murder and failing to report their information, leading to actions that hindered the investigation. The officer was released under restrictive conditions after the inquiry.
