Israeli Cabinet Committee Approves Lifetime Security for Sara Netanyahu and Extended Protection for Her Children

Additionally, their children, Yair and Avner Netanyahu, will receive security for the next five years. This decision follows revelations that Shin Bet chief David Zini altered the professional security assessment under pressure from Sara Netanyahu. The committee's approval was the final step required for the security arrangements to take effect. Earlier this week, reports indicated that Netanyahu was pushing to extend security coverage for families of former prime ministers for several years after their terms end. A related discussion was postponed due to objections from the National Security Council regarding certain security provisions. Last year, a confidential committee meeting approved increased security for the Netanyahu family abroad and for other ministers, following efforts by the prime minister to expand security measures despite criticism from Shin Bet and political opposition during government debates.
