US Military Conducts New Airstrikes on Iranian Targets Near Strait of Hormuz

The US Central Command announced overnight a series of airstrikes against Iranian military targets. The strikes targeted Iranian command centers, air defense sites, missile and drone capabilities, and coastal surveillance facilities to further degrade Iran's ability to threaten commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz. The operation lasted approximately 90 minutes and included precise munitions strikes in multiple locations, including Bandar Abbas.

Despite significant damage to Iran's military since the US-Israel campaign began on February 28, Tehran retains substantial drone and missile capabilities and has continued attacks on oil tankers and regional targets. The US military stated the recent strikes focused on Iranian air defense systems, coastal radars, missile sites, drones, small boats, and other maritime assets.

Reports from Iran indicated explosions in the port city of Bandar Abbas near the Strait of Hormuz, as well as in Ahvaz in the southwest and Chabahar in the southeast. Iranian media also reported US strikes on Semnan Airport east of Tehran. Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump said in a Fox News interview that Iran is eager to negotiate with the US but warned of severe military action in the coming days if Iran does not return to talks, threatening to destroy power stations and bridges.

Additionally, Kuwait's military reported intercepting Iranian drones overnight, Bahrain activated air raid sirens, and Jordan claimed to have shot down eight Iranian missiles, indicating heightened regional tensions following the US strikes.
