US Launches Extensive Strikes on Iranian Targets and Imposes Naval Blockade in Strait of Hormuz
The US military conducted a series of airstrikes on Iranian targets overnight, lasting approximately seven hours. These attacks targeted locations in western Iran's Kurdistan region, marking the first strikes there since the ceasefire, as well as in Khuzestan province and southern Iran. Iranian sources reported that around 10 to 15 Iranian soldiers were killed during an attack on a military base in the southern city of Mofar.
Alongside the airstrikes, the US imposed a renewed naval blockade in the strategic Strait of Hormuz, a critical chokepoint for global oil shipments. In retaliation for the American attacks, Iran launched strikes in Jordan, Kuwait, and Bahrain, escalating regional tensions further.
