Golani Brigade Departs Southern Lebanon After Seven Months of Operations

The Golani Brigade's tactical group, operating under the 36th Division, has concluded a seven-month deployment in southern Lebanon and is returning for a period of rest and retraining, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced on Wednesday. According to the IDF, the soldiers operated within a security zone to neutralize threats against Israel. Their recent operations included deployment in the Beaufort massif and a targeted operation against Hezbollah infrastructure near the Litani River.

The IDF stated that its forces destroyed over 900 structures used by the Lebanese Shiite organization. Additionally, they reportedly discovered multiple weapons caches containing RPGs, explosive charges, booby-trapped drones, and Kalashnikov assault rifles. The military released footage from soldiers' body cameras during operations near the Litani, along with photographs of seized weapons and a ceremony marking the end of their mission.

Colonel Ayoub Kayouf, commander of the brigade, stated, "In Golani, we always win, we do not return without accomplishing our mission, and we never give up." He acknowledged the "heavy price" paid during the months of combat but emphasized the return to normal life in northern Israel. "Look around you: communities are living normally and celebrating holidays, shops are open, and kindergartens are continuing their activities. This is what we fought for and continue to fight for," he added.
