Golani Brigade Concludes Intense Combat Operations in Southern Lebanon

The Golani Brigade's combat team has completed its mission in southern Lebanon after months of intense fighting and is now withdrawing for rest and refitting. The soldiers operated under Division 36, focusing on the strategic Beaufort Ridge and surrounding areas to neutralize threats to northern Israeli communities.

During their deployment, the brigade's forces conducted a targeted raid reaching the Litani River, where they uncovered and destroyed significant Hezbollah weapons caches. These included explosive drones, powerful explosives, and RPG rockets. Overall, the operation resulted in the destruction of over 900 terror infrastructure targets.

The brigade's efforts centered on the Beaufort Ridge, a key vantage point historically used by Hezbollah for observation and launching attacks into Israel. The soldiers systematically dismantled Hezbollah's hideouts, command posts, and launch sites.

Brigade Commander Colonel Iyyov Kiof addressed his soldiers, acknowledging the heavy cost of the fighting in terms of casualties and injuries. He expressed pride in the soldiers' achievements, stating, "We paid a heavy price, but the reward is the children of the north celebrating in kindergartens." He emphasized the brigade's values of always winning, completing missions, and maintaining humanity.

The withdrawal of the Golani Brigade is part of a broader IDF effort to establish a demilitarized security zone in southern Lebanon, aimed at preventing anti-tank missile fire and infiltration threats against border communities. The intelligence and infrastructure destroyed are expected to provide the IDF with greater operational freedom to maintain quiet in the north.
