IDF's Brigade 401 Completes Major Security Operation in South Lebanon After Eight Months

After eight months of defensive and offensive operations in southern Lebanon, Israel's Brigade 401 has completed its mission in the region. The brigade operated under Division 91 to protect northern Israeli communities and neutralize threats emanating from Lebanese territory. During this period, the forces combined border defense with proactive strikes within the security zone in southern Lebanon.

According to the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), Brigade 401 destroyed over 1,200 Hezbollah terror infrastructures, including extensive underground networks spanning hundreds of meters, dismantled in cooperation with the engineering unit Yahalom. The troops also located more than 600 weapons and eliminated over 60 Hezbollah militants active in the area.

Brigade 401 commander Colonel Yoav Schneider emphasized that the primary goal was to remove threats to Israeli civilians. He acknowledged the heavy price paid by the brigade's soldiers and combat teams, honoring fallen comrades and reaffirming commitment to completing the mission to ensure their sacrifice was not in vain.
