Israeli Actor and Pilot Guy Kapulnik Dies in California Plane Crash

Israeli actor, pilot, and flight instructor Guy Kapulnik, 46, died last Thursday in a light aircraft crash in California. A woman named Taylor Lasca, 33, also perished in the accident. Kapulnik, who resided in Los Angeles, was a graduate of the Nissan Nativ Acting Studio in Jerusalem and held a degree in information systems from the Technion. In Israel, he appeared in films such as "Room 514," "Salsa Tel Aviv," "Keep Me," and "Lebanon," as well as in theater and other productions.

He later moved to the United States, where he continued his acting career, appearing in film, television, and theater productions. Kapulnik's family stated that alongside his acting, his great love for aviation became a central part of his life in recent years. He trained as a pilot in California, became a certified flight instructor, and guided many students. Following his death, students and friends began posting farewell messages, remembering him as a beloved individual and a significant instructor who taught them not only to fly but also to love aviation. His family described him as a man of action, curiosity, and adventure, a skipper and a man of the sea, who constantly navigated between the stage and camera, the sea and the sky, and repeatedly dared to choose new paths.
