Israeli actor, pilot, and flight instructor Guy Kapulnik, 46, died in the crash of a light aircraft in California. The incident occurred on September 24 near Hesperia in San Bernardino County, when a single-engine Aeronca Champion plane crashed in an open area. A female passenger also perished in the accident. The cause of the crash is currently unknown, and investigations are being conducted by the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB). Kapulnik, who had served as an officer in the elite Israeli Air Force rescue unit 669, later graduated from the Technion and studied acting.
