Israeli Food Giant Recalls Ketchup Due to Spicy Mix-Up
Osem-Nestle, a major Israeli food manufacturer, is recalling some 750-gram bottles of its classic ketchup from store shelves. The recall was initiated because a batch of spicy ketchup was mistakenly bottled in containers labeled as the classic variety. The Ministry of Health's press service announced the recall on Tuesday, September 29.
The affected products are those with barcode 7290000072623, from batch number 62022828, with an expiration date of July 21, 2027, and bottled between 10:00 PM and 11:59 PM. According to Osem-Nestle, only a small portion of this batch is affected.
The company emphasized that the spicy ketchup is safe to consume, with the only difference being a hotter taste than indicated on the label. However, the bottles are being removed from sale because the contents do not match the packaging. The Ashkelon district food service of the Ministry of Health has been notified.
Consumers who purchased the mislabeled ketchup can receive a replacement coupon by contacting Osem-Nestle's customer service via phone at 1-700-70-76-76, through the company's website, or by emailing [email protected] Osem-Nestle has apologized for the error.
