Israeli Forces Clash With Over 100 Jewish Rioters in West Bank Village

Israeli security forces, including the IDF and Border Police, operated overnight in the Palestinian village of Jalud, near the Samaria Brigade area, to disperse Israeli rioters and protect the village residents. The operation was underway as a Palestinian family was scheduled to return to their home after being forced to abandon it due to previous nationalist crime incidents. However, due to severe violence that erupted, the family's return was not completed.

Over 100 Israeli rioters were present in the village, blocking roads, setting tires ablaze, and throwing stones at security forces. The rioters also set fire to Palestinian structures, vehicles, and other property within the village. Three Border Police officers sustained minor injuries during the confrontations and attacks on the forces, and a security vehicle was damaged.

Security forces dispersed the gathering using crowd control measures and arrested two suspects, who were transferred for investigation by the Judea and Samaria District Police. The police and IDF stated that investigators from the Judea and Samaria District, along with forensic investigators, will later visit the scene, secured by IDF forces, to collect evidence and gather testimonies to complete the investigation.

The security establishment issued a strong condemnation of any harm to security personnel performing their duties, as well as acts of vandalism and property damage. They emphasized that such serious incidents divert attention, undermine stability, and impede the security forces' defensive and counter-terrorism operations.

President Isaac Herzog condemned the events, calling the violence by rioters in Jalud a grave act that must be dealt with to the fullest extent of the law. He stated that the arson, stone-throwing, and attacks on soldiers and police officers are forbidden and have no justification, contradicting Jewish values. Herzog expressed support for the IDF, Israel Police, and security establishment, wishing a speedy recovery to the injured, and urged law enforcement to act decisively against the lawbreakers.
