Ofir Sarid, the CEO of the real estate group Melisron, has passed away at the age of 54. Sarid led the company for the past seven years, overseeing its expansion into the residential sector. He had been on medical leave since early September due to health reasons, and Oren Hilinger was appointed acting CEO.

Sarid had a 15-year tenure at Melisron, starting as CFO in 2011, where he managed the company's financial and business operations. He was appointed CEO in October 2019. During his leadership, in addition to Melisron's established activities in malls, offices, and high-tech parks, he spearheaded the development of the residential arm through the acquisition of its subsidiary, Aviv Melisron.

Academically, Sarid was a certified public accountant with a bachelor's degree in economics and accounting from the University of Haifa and a master's degree in law from Bar-Ilan University. Melisron announced his medical leave on September 2nd. Last week, following a decline in his condition, the company announced the termination of his role. Oren Hilinger, the CFO, has been appointed interim CEO until a permanent replacement is found.

Liora Ofer, the controlling shareholder and chairwoman of Melisron's board, expressed her grief, stating, "I am pained by the untimely passing of Ofir, who beyond being a valued, professional, and talented CEO, was a true friend and partner in vision and path. Ofir was a principled and beloved person and will be greatly missed. His work and significant contribution will continue to accompany Melisron going forward."

Sarid is survived by his wife and three children.
