IDF Kills Hamas Financial Operative in Gaza Strike

The Israeli military announced Sunday that it killed Shadi Abu Hasira in an airstrike in Gaza City. The IDF identified Abu Hasira as a key money changer for Hamas's armed wing, stating he led the "Geneva" exchange network. According to the IDF, this network transferred tens of millions of shekels in foreign currency to Hamas.

The military claims these funds were used to finance terrorists, rebuild military infrastructure, and prepare attacks against Israeli forces. The IDF also stated that Abu Hasira managed the company Gardena Professional, which facilitated his money transfer activities within the Gaza Strip.

Furthermore, the IDF accused Abu Hasira of recently participating in planning attacks against Israeli soldiers and civilians, and in efforts to restore Hamas's capabilities in violation of the ceasefire. The military asserted that precautions were taken to minimize civilian risk during the strike, including the use of precision munitions and aerial surveillance.

The IDF stated its operations against Hamas's financing networks are ongoing to prevent the rebuilding of its military infrastructure and capabilities.
