IDF Eliminates Hamas Financial Operative Leading Terror Funding Network

The Israeli military announced Sunday that it targeted and eliminated Shadi Abu Khatzira, a key money changer for Hamas's military wing, in the Gaza City area. Security officials stated that Abu Khatzira led the "Geneva" exchange network, which funneled tens of millions of shekels in foreign currency to Hamas's military arm. These funds directly supported operatives, repaired military infrastructure damaged in previous conflicts, and financed terror attacks against Israeli forces.

In addition to his role in the exchange network, Abu Khatzira was involved in trade within Gaza and managed "Gardena Professional," a company used as a front to facilitate financial transfers to the terrorist organization. The IDF noted that Abu Khatzira had recently been advancing terror plots against Israeli soldiers and civilians and was actively working to rebuild Hamas's military capabilities, systematically violating the ceasefire.

Israeli security forces emphasized their ongoing operational and intelligence efforts to disrupt Hamas's financial pipelines. The goal is to prevent the terrorist group from restoring its military infrastructure and capabilities in the Gaza Strip.
