IDF Eliminates Hamas Financial Operative in Gaza City Airstrike

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced Sunday that it had eliminated Shadi Abu Hatzeira, a key money changer for Hamas's military wing, in an airstrike in Gaza City. Abu Hatzeira was described as a central figure in the "Geneva" exchange network, which allegedly transferred tens of millions of shekels in foreign currency to Hamas's military arm. These funds were reportedly used to finance operatives, rebuild military infrastructure, and advance terror plots against Israeli forces.

In addition to his financial activities, Abu Hatzeira was involved in trade within the Gaza Strip and managed the company "Gardena Professional," which facilitated his money transfer operations. The IDF stated that Abu Hatzeira had recently been advancing terror plots against Israeli soldiers and civilians and was working to restore Hamas's capabilities, systematically violating the ceasefire.

The airstrike was carried out to neutralize the threat he posed. The IDF emphasized its ongoing efforts to disrupt Hamas's financing capabilities, prevent the rebuilding of its military infrastructure, and counter its operational capacities. Forces from the IDF Southern Command are deployed in the area and will continue to act to remove any immediate threats.
