IDF Eliminates Key Hamas Financial Operative in Gaza

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) conducted an airstrike in Gaza City on Sunday, eliminating Shadi Abu Hatira, a central money changer for Hamas's military wing. Abu Hatira led the "Geneva" exchange network, which transferred tens of millions of shekels in foreign currency to fund Hamas's military activities, including financing terrorists, rebuilding military infrastructure, and advancing terror plots against Israeli forces.

In parallel with his role in the exchange network, Abu Hatira was involved in trade within the Gaza Strip and managed the company "Gardena Professional," which facilitated his money transfer operations. Recently, he had been actively promoting terror attacks against IDF soldiers and Israeli civilians and working to restore the capabilities of the Hamas terror organization, systematically violating the ceasefire.

The IDF stated that the strike was carried out from the air to neutralize the threat Abu Hatira posed. The military emphasized its ongoing efforts to target Hamas's financial capabilities, prevent the rebuilding of its military infrastructure, and hinder its operational capacity.
