IDF Eliminates Hamas Financial Operative Behind Millions in Transfers

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced Sunday the elimination of Shadi Abu Hatira, a key money exchanger within Hamas's military wing, whom the army identified as responsible for transferring tens of millions of shekels to the terror organization. Abu Hatira was killed in an airstrike in the Gaza City area on Sunday. The IDF released footage of the strike on Monday, detailing his central role in Hamas's financial network.

According to the IDF spokesperson, Abu Hatira led the "Geneva" exchange network, which facilitated the transfer of tens of millions of shekels in foreign currency to Hamas's military arm. These funds were allegedly used to finance terrorists, rebuild military infrastructure, and advance terror plots against IDF forces.

In addition to his work with the exchange network, Abu Hatira was involved in trade in the Gaza Strip and managed the company "Gardena Professional," which the IDF claims aided his financial transfer operations. The military stated that recently, Abu Hatira had been working to restore Hamas's capabilities and had promoted terror plans against IDF forces and Israeli civilians, systematically violating the ceasefire.

The IDF emphasized that the airstrike was carried out to neutralize the threat he posed. The military continues to focus on targeting Hamas's financial infrastructure to impede the organization's ability to rebuild its damaged military capabilities. IDF forces in the Southern Command remain deployed in the area, operating to neutralize immediate threats.
