Journalist Slams Father of Fallen Soldier Over Remarks to Hostage Survivor

A public storm erupted online following harsh statements made by Itzik Bonzel, a bereaved father and a candidate on the Likud party's Knesset list, against released hostage Yocheved Lifshitz. Journalist Akiva Novik launched a sharp attack against Bonzel, presenting precise facts regarding Lifshitz's release from Hamas captivity.

The controversy began when Lifshitz claimed that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu did not secure the release of hostages, but rather that Miriam Adelson "bought them from Hamas." In response, Bonzel vehemently attacked Lifshitz, accusing her of ingratitude. "The ones who extracted you from the tunnels were not Miriam Adelson, but our sons who paid with their lives. I wish there was a way to return you to Hamas," Bonzel stated.

Journalist Akiva Novik defended Lifshitz, dismissing Bonzel's claims and citing the timeline of events during the war.
