Likud Candidate Slams Hostage Survivor Yocheved Lifshitz

Itzik Bonzel, a candidate on the Likud party's Knesset list and a bereaved father who lost his son in the war, harshly criticized Yocheved Lifshitz, a hostage survivor of the Hamas attack, following her critical remarks about Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the government.

In a Facebook post, Bonzel expressed a wish that Lifshitz could be returned to Hamas, stating that she did not deserve for Israeli soldiers to sacrifice their lives for her. He attributed her statements to an "hatred of Netanyahu" that caused her to lose her senses and disregard morality and shame.

Bonzel's comments were a response to an interview Lifshitz gave to Channel 13, in which she claimed Netanyahu had not rescued any hostages and that Miriam Adelson had "bought us from Trump." She also warned that the current government remaining in power after the elections would be a "disaster for the country."

Bonzel directly addressed Lifshitz in his post, asserting that it was "hundreds of heroes" who rescued her from Gaza's tunnels, some of whom never returned, not Miriam Adelson. He emphasized that Israeli soldiers paid with their lives so she could be safe, calling her words "pathetic, outrageous, and disconnected."

He concluded by stating that witnessing such "ingratitude" made it seem as though she did not deserve the sacrifices made for her. Bonzel added that silence in the face of such "lowliness" was an unforgivable sin.
