Likud Candidate Slams Hostage Survivor Yocheved Lifshitz Over Anti-Netanyahu Remarks

Likud party candidate Itzik Bonzel fiercely attacked Yocheved Lifshitz, a survivor of Hamas captivity, following her critical remarks about Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the Israeli government. Bonzel, who lost his son Amit in the war and is ranked 29th on the Likud's Knesset list, posted on Facebook that he wished there was a way to return Lifshitz to Hamas.

Bonzel's comments were a response to an interview Lifshitz gave to Channel 13's Raviv Drucker, where she stated, "Bibi didn't bring back any hostages, Miriam Adelson bought us from Trump. If this government remains after the elections, it's a disaster for the country." Lifshitz also claimed that the government's actions were not responsible for her release, attributing it instead to Miriam Adelson's influence.

In his post, Bonzel directly addressed Lifshitz, asserting that "hundreds of heroes" risked their lives to rescue her, with some never returning. He added, "Our sons paid with their lives and the heart's blood of every home in Israel so you could sit safely in your home." He described her words as "pathetic, infuriating, and detached."

Bonzel escalated his criticism, writing, "I wish there was a way to turn back the clock and return you to Hamas, because seeing this display of ingratitude, it seems you simply did not deserve for our dear and holy sons to sacrifice their lives for you." He concluded by accusing Lifshitz of being blinded by her hatred for Netanyahu, which he claimed destroyed any sense of morality, shame, and respect for those who rescued her at the cost of their lives.
