The IDF and Shin Bet said Sabaei Zahir Abd al-Hamid Abu Hasna, a Nukhba operative who took part in holding Omer Shem Tov captive in Hamas captivity, was killed in northern Gaza over the weekend. The joint statement said Abu Hasna also took part in the October 7, 2023 invasion of Israel.

According to the agencies, during the war he was involved in planting explosive devices, and more recently he had tried to advance terror plots aimed at harming IDF forces operating in the area.

In a separate strike in northern Gaza, three Hamas militants were also killed. The statement did not give further details about that operation.
