The IDF and Shin Bet said they killed Zaki Yusef Mahmoud Abu Mustafa in southern Gaza. Abu Mustafa served as commander of the Nukhba unit of the Khan Younis Brigade in Palestinian Islamic Jihad, and was said to have taken part in the October 7 massacre at Kibbutz Nir Oz, including the abduction of Yagil Yaakov.
According to the Israeli military and security service, Abu Mustafa was killed over the weekend. They said he had been working extensively to rebuild the terror group’s capabilities in the Gaza Strip while violating the ceasefire agreement.
In a separate strike, the IDF and Shin Bet said they killed Muhammad Osama Abd al-Aziz Saba al-Aish, a Hamas Nukhba operative. He was accused of trying to advance training and instruction for militants and of recruiting additional candidates.
