The IDF and Shin Bet said on Monday that they killed Sabai Zehir Abd al-Hamid Abu Hasna, a Hamas Nukhba operative, in northern Gaza over the weekend. Abu Hasna was involved in holding hostage Omer Shem Tov and took part in the October 7 massacre and the incursion into Israel.
According to the Israeli agencies, during the war he planted explosives and recently tried to advance terror plots against IDF forces operating in the Gaza Strip. He became widely known after appearing beside Shem Tov during the hostage release ceremony, where Shem Tov was seen kissing the militant’s head after being forced to do so by one of the captors.
The statement said that in a separate strike in northern Gaza, three armed Hamas operatives were also killed while attempting to promote terror attacks against Israeli forces in the area. The military added that South Command troops remain deployed in line with the agreement and will continue working to eliminate any threat.
