Hamas Commander Involved in Holding 9 Hostages Eliminated in Gaza
Israeli forces and the Shin Bet security agency announced the elimination of Hamas commander Muhammad Gabaein in an airstrike in northern Gaza. Gabaein was directly involved in holding nine Israeli hostages throughout the war.
Intelligence confirmed that Gabaein, who served as a commander in Hamas's military wing, was responsible for the captivity of numerous Israeli hostages. Among those held under his watch were Ziv Berman, Eitan Mor, Liri Albag, Agam Berger, Matan Angrist, Gali Berman, Omri Miran, Keith Siegel, and Alon Ohel.
Security officials stated that Gabaein had recently been working to restore Hamas's capabilities and was promoting terror attacks against Israeli civilians and soldiers, systematically violating the ceasefire.
The targeted airstrike was carried out to neutralize the threat posed by Gabaein. Israeli forces remain deployed in the area and continue to operate to remove any immediate threats.
