IDF Eliminates Hamas Terrorist Involved in Holding Israeli Hostages
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and the Shin Bet security agency announced Sunday the elimination of a Hamas terrorist, Muhammad Hamad Muhammad Jabein, who was involved in holding Israeli hostages during the war. Jabein, identified as a commander in Hamas's military wing, was killed in an airstrike in northern Gaza last week. According to the IDF and Shin Bet, Jabein was responsible for holding nine hostages throughout the war: Ziv Berman, Eitan Mor, Liri Albag, Agam Berger, Matan Angrest, Gali Berman, Omri Miran, Keith Segal, and Alon Ohl.
Security officials stated that Jabein had recently continued to operate within Hamas, advancing terror plots against IDF forces and Israeli civilians, and working to restore the terrorist organization's capabilities while systematically violating the ceasefire. The airstrike was conducted to neutralize the threat he posed.
The IDF and Shin Bet emphasized that Jabein was involved in holding hostages during the war, in addition to his later activities against IDF forces and Israeli civilians. This assassination is part of ongoing security efforts to locate and thwart terrorists involved in the October 7th massacre and abductions, and in holding hostages.
Earlier reports indicated the elimination of the terrorist who drove the motorcycle on which Noah Argamani was abducted, as seen in widely circulated footage from October 7th.
