IDF Eliminates Hamas Commander Involved in Holding Nine Hostages
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and Shin Bet security agency announced the elimination of a Hamas commander, Muhammad Hamad Muhammad Jabein, in northern Gaza last Tuesday. Jabein was involved in holding nine Israeli hostages: Ziv Berman, Eitan Mor, Liri Albag, Agam Berger, Matan Angrest, Gali Berman, Omri Miran, Keith Siegel, and Alon Ohel.
According to the IDF, Jabein was recently advancing terror plans against IDF forces and Israeli civilians and was working to restore Hamas's capabilities, systematically violating the ceasefire. He was eliminated from the air to neutralize the threat he posed.
In a separate operation, the IDF confirmed on Sunday that it, along with the Shin Bet and the Gideonim Unit 33 of Lahav 433, targeted and eliminated Sahar Nidal Latifi Sakar in the Nuseirat area. Sakar was identified as an operative in global jihad organizations operating in Gaza who supplied weapons to Hamas during the war.
Sakar infiltrated Israel during the October 7th massacre and drove the motorcycle used to abduct Noa Argamani and Avinatan Or to Gaza. Recently, he had been promoting terror plots against Israeli forces and civilians in collaboration with operatives from Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad.
