IDF and Shin Bet Eliminate Hamas Commander Involved in Hostage Holdings
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and the Shin Bet security agency announced this week the elimination of a Hamas commander, Muhammad Hamad Muhammad Gaba'in, in a strike in northern Gaza last week. Gaba'in, a commander in Hamas's military wing, was involved in holding nine Israeli hostages captive: Ziv Berman, Eitan Mor, Liri Albag, Agam Berger, Matan Angrest, Gali Berman, Omri Miran, Keith Segal, and Alon Ahl.
According to the IDF and Shin Bet, Gaba'in had recently been advancing terror plans against Israeli forces and citizens and was working to restore Hamas's capabilities, systematically violating the ceasefire. The strike was carried out by air to neutralize the threat he posed.
Security forces in the Southern Command are deployed in the area and will continue to operate to remove any immediate threats.
