Former Israeli PM Naftali Bennett Attacked at Restaurant

Former Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett was the target of an object thrown at him while he was at a restaurant in Bnei Brak on Thursday. Bennett was visiting the restaurant to film a social media video for his 'Parliament' series. According to police, a passerby threw an object that missed Bennett. However, the object struck a female member of Bennett's staff in the head. She received immediate treatment from Magen David Adom paramedics at the scene and was released without further medical attention. Bennett later spoke with her and confirmed she was feeling well.

The suspect, identified as a political activist, was immediately apprehended by police officers present at the scene and was taken for questioning. A court ordered him to remain in custody until Sunday. Bennett's party, "Achad" (Together), thanked the security and rescue forces for their swift response and stated their intention to continue holding meetings across the country as part of their "mission to repair the State of Israel."

During the incident, an activist named Mordechai David was also present and was filmed shouting at Bennett. Bennett responded by telling David to enlist quickly, implying that David would not receive state funding if Bennett were prime minister. This is not the first time David has confronted a political figure opposing Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Last month, he approached and questioned Gadi Eisenkot, chairman of the "Yisrael" party, at the beach. Eisenkot declined to answer, stating he only cooperates with those who have served in the military.
