Protesters Hurl Objects at Former PM Naftali Bennett in Bnei Brak

Former Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett faced a hostile reception during a political visit to a restaurant in Bnei Brak on Thursday. The visit, part of the "BeYachad" party's election campaign, was disrupted by a group of Haredi individuals who shouted insults and derogatory remarks at Bennett. One person reportedly called him an "anti-Semite."

According to a statement from the "BeYachad" party, two objects were thrown at Bennett, with one hitting a female staff member on the head. The party claimed that political activists, not local residents, instigated the disturbance. They stated that Bennett had initially arrived to hold a discussion with yeshiva students, which they described as constructive.

Video footage from the incident shows individuals shouting at Bennett. In one exchange, Bennett confronted a right-wing activist named Mordechai David, telling him, "Go enlist, because when I am prime minister, you won't see a shekel." The "BeYachad" party reiterated that two objects were thrown, injuring a staff member.

The Israeli Police announced that they have arrested a suspect in connection with the throwing of objects during the event.
