British Documentaries on Middle East Conflict Nominated for International Emmy Awards

Two British documentary films focusing on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and the situation in Gaza have been nominated for the prestigious International Emmy Awards 2026. The International Academy of Television Arts and Sciences announced the official list of nominees, which includes 64 programs and television professionals from 22 countries.

The first nominated film is the BBC production "Louis Theroux: The Settlers," competing in the Documentary category. In this film, journalist Louis Theroux revisits Judea and Samaria (the West Bank) after 14 years to interview leaders of the settler movement, including Daniela Weiss, as well as local Palestinian residents. The film was produced by Mindhouse Productions.

The second project, "Exposure: Breaking Ranks: Inside Israel's War," by ITV and directed by Benjamin Zand, is nominated in the Arts Programming category. This documentary features candid interviews with active IDF soldiers, veterans, and reservists discussing their experiences during combat operations in Gaza. The film addresses difficult questions regarding international law, including accusations of indiscriminate strikes and the use of civilians, though the Israeli military has stated it operates in strict accordance with the laws of war and investigates any suspected violations. This film had previously received a BAFTA nomination for Current Affairs.

The winners of the International Emmy Awards will be announced at a ceremony in New York on November 23.
