Israeli Hiker Missing on Mount Olympus in Greece

An extensive search is underway for Ami Yogeve, a 46-year-old Israeli national, who lost contact during a hiking trip on Mount Olympus in Greece. According to his family, Yogeve departed from the Prionia parking area last Sunday to ascend one of the mountain's trails. His last communication was a photo sent to his mother, believed to have been taken after the second rest stop on the E4 trail.

A volunteer assisting the family has arrived at the mountain and is coordinating with mountain hut operators and local emergency teams to gather information and aid the search efforts. The family has appealed to other Israeli hikers who were in the area recently to report any sightings of Yogeve, or if they encountered him at trailheads, huts, rest stops, or spoke with him and learned his intended route.

They have also urged anyone in the vicinity who saw Yogeve or possesses any information that could assist in locating him to share it with the family or rescue authorities. The Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that the Israeli Consul in Athens and the department for Israelis in distress abroad are in contact with local authorities and are providing all possible assistance in the search for the missing hiker.
