Israeli Hiker Missing on Mount Olympus, Foreign Ministry Involved in Search

An Israeli man, Ami Yogev, 46, has been missing since Sunday after embarking on a hike in the Mount Olympus region of Greece. His family in Israel has issued an urgent appeal to other Israeli travelers in the area to help locate him. According to details from the investigation and the family, Yogev began his trek from the Prionia parking area, proceeding up the trail. The last sign of life from him was a photograph sent to his mother, taken after the second rest stop on the E4 trail. There are unconfirmed reports that he may have been seen near Klakós, but this has not been verified. In addition to official efforts, a volunteer has joined the search, maintaining constant contact with mountain hut operators and local emergency services. The family is requesting anyone who was in the area since Sunday, passed by him, stayed in the huts, or spoke with him, to come forward with any information that could aid in his discovery.

The Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that upon learning of the case, Israel's consul in Athens and relevant departments within the ministry have been in close contact with Greek authorities, actively assisting in the search for the missing Israeli national.
