IDF Special Forces Capture Terrorists Planning Imminent Attack During Yom Kippur

During Yom Kippur, Israeli military forces conducted counter-terrorism operations across the West Bank. In Qabatiya, located in the Menashe Brigade area, Duvdevan unit commandos apprehended two Islamic Jihad terrorists who were planning an immediate attack. Simultaneously, in the village of Biddu, within the Binyamin Brigade sector, forces mapped the home of a terrorist. In another brigade-wide operation in the village of Sarqa, soldiers located approximately 100 sites, interrogated 90 suspects, and discovered a hunting rifle. Duvdevan operatives also found a lathe, two Carlo submachine guns, and additional weaponry in Beit Ur al-Tahta. In the Menashe Brigade area, the Paratroopers Reconnaissance Battalion also operated, interrogating suspects, arresting wanted individuals, and seizing materials intended for explosive production. Efraim Brigade forces were active in villages within their sector, interrogating over 80 suspects.

This operation in Qabatiya follows a similar successful mission by Duvdevan in the same village about a month prior, where a five-member cell planning attacks against civilians and security forces was arrested. During that earlier operation, forces entered the location and apprehended the suspects within ten minutes, subsequently finding an M16 rifle and other weapons in their homes.
