Kanal 11 Director Itzik Barashi Dies in Cycling Accident
Itzik Barashi, a director at the news division of the Kan 11 public broadcaster, died Saturday morning in a cycling accident on Highway 44 near the Nesherim interchange. Barashi, 54, joined Kan 11 shortly after its establishment in 2018 and was a key part of its news division, covering both routine broadcasts and the ongoing war.
Kan 11 colleagues remembered Barashi as a "professional and talented director" who demonstrated "professionalism and commitment" throughout his years with the broadcaster. He was involved in numerous broadcasts, including during the war.
Broadcaster Ayala Hason eulogized Barashi, with whom she was scheduled to work on the day of his death. She described him as a "beloved director" and a "devoted family man, excellent professional, and above all, a good person, a friend." Barashi is survived by his wife, Shirley, and their three children, Keran, Roei, and Itai.
