ITZY BARASHI, KAN NEWS DIRECTOR, DIES IN CYCLING ACCIDENT
Itzy Barashi, a director at the Israeli Public Broadcasting Corporation's news division, died Saturday morning in a cycling accident on Highway 44 near the Nesharim interchange. Barashi, 54, joined the corporation in 2018 shortly after its establishment and served as a director for Kan News, covering numerous broadcasts including those during the recent war.
Kan News issued a statement mourning his death, calling him "a valued director in the news division" and "one of the most professional and talented directors at Kan News." The statement further noted his professionalism and commitment throughout his tenure, both in routine times and during the war.
Barashi is survived by his wife, Shirley, and their children, Keran, Ro'i, and Itai. Kan News extended its condolences to his family, friends, and colleagues.
