Young Motorcyclist Killed in Fatal Road Accident
A 19-year-old motorcyclist, Yitzhak Elhanan Batat of Beitar Illit, was killed in a severe traffic accident on Wednesday evening on Route 375, between Beit Shemesh and Beitar Illit. The crash occurred near Tzur Hadassah and the Beitar checkpoint.
Emergency medical teams who arrived at the scene found Batat lying on the side of the road, unconscious, with no pulse or breathing, suffering from extensive, critical injuries. Paramedics performed prolonged resuscitation efforts, including stopping bleeding, chest compressions, and artificial respiration. Despite their efforts, his injuries were deemed fatal, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Following the accident, Batat's body was transferred to the Forensic Institute. ZAKA's legal department, with the assistance of Rabbi Asher Landau, the rabbi of the Forensic Institute, worked to expedite the release of the body for burial. The body was subsequently released and transferred for burial. ZAKA's legal department director, Michael Gutwein, stated that they continued to support the bereaved family.
