Motorcyclist Dies in Fatal Crash Near Jerusalem

A motorcyclist, approximately 30 years old, was killed overnight in a traffic accident on Highway 1 near the HaShomroni interchange, close to Ma'ale Adumim. Paramedics attempted resuscitation efforts but pronounced him dead at the scene. "We saw the injured man lying by the side of the road, unconscious, without a pulse or breathing, with very severe injuries to his body, a long distance from his motorcycle," described MDA paramedics Eli Bernstein and Aryeh Weiss. "We provided advanced medical treatment including prolonged resuscitation efforts, after which we had no choice but to pronounce his death on the spot."

This incident follows a series of other fatal accidents. On Wednesday, two men, aged 30 and 40, died in a collision between two private vehicles on Highway 675 in the Gilboa region. Firefighters extricated them from the wreckage, and paramedics pronounced them dead at the scene. Two others, a 30-year-old man and a 37-year-old woman, were seriously injured and taken to HaEmek Hospital in Afula.

Earlier Thursday morning, an elderly pedestrian in her 80s was struck and killed in northern Tel Aviv. The driver, also in his 80s, was arrested on suspicion of involvement and fleeing the scene. Traffic accident investigators from the Tel Aviv District Police arrived at the scene on Ben Ephraim Street and opened an investigation. The pedestrian was evacuated in serious condition to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead. Police located and arrested the suspect shortly after.

Additionally, earlier Thursday, a man in his 50s was seriously injured while cycling near the Bareket junction, in the Shoham area. MDA teams evacuated him to Sheba-Tel HaShomer Hospital with facial injuries.
