Motorcyclist Dies in Severe Crash on Highway 1 Near Jerusalem

A man in his 30s was killed early Thursday morning in a motorcycle accident on Highway 1 near the Shomronim interchange, close to Jerusalem. Emergency medical services received a report at approximately 2:25 AM and dispatched paramedics to the scene.

Upon arrival, responders found the motorcyclist lying on the side of the road, unconscious, with no pulse or breathing, and suffering from severe, multi-system trauma. Paramedics noted the victim was found a significant distance from his motorcycle.

Intensive resuscitation efforts were performed at the scene, but tragically, the man was pronounced dead. "We saw the injured man lying by the side of the road, unconscious, without a pulse and without breathing with very severe injuries to his body, a great distance from his motorcycle," recounted senior MDA paramedic Eli Bernstein and MDA paramedic Aryeh Weiss. "We provided him with advanced medical treatment that included prolonged resuscitation efforts, at the end of which we had no choice but to pronounce him dead at the scene."
