A man about 50 years old was killed on Sunday after his motorcycle was struck by a vehicle on Highway 20 near the Hashalom Interchange in Tel Aviv. Magen David Adom crews gave him emergency treatment at the scene, but after resuscitation efforts, he was pronounced dead there.
Paramedics Amit Shushan and Naama Shnir said that while en route to the call, bystanders were shouting for help. "We saw a motorcyclist lying on the road, a man about 50, unconscious, without a pulse and without breathing after being hit by a vehicle," they said. "We immediately began advanced resuscitation efforts, and at the end of them we were sadly forced to pronounce him dead at the scene."
Police said traffic accident investigators opened an inquiry into the incident. Following the fatal crash, there were major traffic jams and heavy congestion in the area, and drivers were asked to avoid the site and follow police instructions.
