The IDF said Wednesday that it struck and killed Hussein Qadrah and Muhammad Fara last week in Gaza. Both were members of Hamas’s military wing and Islamic Jihad, and both operated within a Hamas-run network used to move money into the Gaza Strip.
According to the military, Qadrah headed the network and, together with Fara and others, acted under Hamas leadership’s direction to facilitate the transfer of more than 500 million shekels to Hamas’s military wing. The system relied on dozens of couriers and money exchangers operating in Turkey and Gaza.
The IDF said the funds were used by Hamas, especially in recent weeks, to pay its fighters and finance terrorist activity against IDF forces and Israeli civilians, in violation of the ceasefire agreement. The military added that Southern Command forces remain deployed in the area in line with the agreement and will continue acting to remove any threat.
