Palestinian Journalist Arrested on Suspicion of Working for Iran
Israeli police are investigating a Palestinian journalist from the West Bank village of Beitina, suspected of incitement, supporting a hostile organization, and communicating with the enemy. The woman, in her early 30s, was detained several days ago. Police allege she works as a correspondent for a television channel affiliated with Iran.
The investigation is being conducted by the Samaria District crime unit, along with other security agencies. Investigators are examining the nature of her ties to Iran, as well as suspicions of supporting and promoting terrorism, actions that could harm regional security or the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), and violating a prohibition on trading with the enemy.
On September 17, a court extended the suspect's detention by seven days, until September 23, at the police's request. The investigation is ongoing.
