Israel Strikes Senior Hamas Commander in Gaza
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and the Shin Bet security agency announced Tuesday evening that they targeted a senior Hamas operative in southern Gaza. The assessment is that the individual was the commander of Hamas's Rafah brigade. The operation took place in the southern Gaza Strip.
This strike follows another operation late last week in Khan Younis, where the IDF eliminated Mohsen Farid Said Abu Dhaf, identified as the head of an Islamic Jihad rocket cell. Abu Dhaf had participated in the October 7th incursions into the Kissufim area.
According to the IDF, Abu Dhaf had recently been advancing terror plans against IDF forces and Israeli civilians, systematically violating the ceasefire. The IDF and Shin Bet stated that the targeted operative had been promoting terror plans against Israeli forces and civilians.
