IDF Eliminates Hamas Commander Involved in October 7 Attacks

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have conducted a targeted operation in the southern Gaza Strip, eliminating Mohsen Farid Said Abu Hadhaf, identified as a commander of a rocket cell within the Islamic Jihad organization. According to the IDF's press service, Abu Hadhaf was personally involved in infiltrating the Kissufim area during the October 7th attacks and was responsible for organizing and participating in assaults. Intelligence data reportedly confirmed his role in those events.

The IDF stated that Abu Hadhaf had recently been actively preparing for new attacks against Israeli soldiers and civilians, which they characterized as a severe violation of existing ceasefire agreements. The operation was carried out to neutralize an immediate and real threat to national security. The military emphasized that measures were taken to minimize civilian casualties, including the use of precision weaponry and continuous aerial surveillance.

Units of the IDF's Southern Command continue to operate in border areas, adhering to agreements and remaining prepared to thwart any attempts to breach Israeli security. The IDF also noted that they are ready to respond to any violations of security.
