Air Canada Resumes Tel Aviv Flights Ahead of Schedule

Air Canada has announced it will resume direct flights between Toronto and Tel Aviv on November 30, 2026, nearly six weeks earlier than previously scheduled. The airline had initially planned to restart the route on January 17, 2027, according to Israel Hayom newspaper. The flights will operate four times a week on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, utilizing Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft. Round-trip tickets, including baggage, will start at approximately $1010.

This resumption of direct service is significant for Israelis with connections in Canada, as current travel options involve layovers in Europe or the United States, with El Al also not operating flights on this route. Air Canada's decision is part of a broader trend of international airlines gradually restoring service to Israel.

Several major carriers have already resumed direct flights, including Delta and United in early September, along with KLM, Lufthansa, SWISS, Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines, ITA Airways, and Air Europa. However, some airlines have delayed their return. American Airlines has postponed its resumption until at least the end of March 2027, while British Airways continues to cancel flights until the end of October. Emirates is not operating its own flights to Tel Aviv, relying on a codeshare agreement with flydubai, and major European low-cost carriers easyJet and Ryanair have yet to return. Wizz Air is also increasing its flight frequency between Tel Aviv and Italian cities.
