Air Canada to Resume Flights to Israel This November

Air Canada announced on Tuesday that it will resume flights to Israel on November 30, significantly earlier than its previously scheduled January 17 return. The Canadian airline will operate four flights per week on the route, making it the only direct service between Israel and Canada following El Al's cessation of operations on that route in 2022.

This move follows the recent return of American carriers Delta and United to Israel. The trend of foreign airlines resuming or expanding services to Israel is notable, particularly as the winter season approaches. With global demand typically decreasing during this period, airlines are seeking new destinations, and the Israeli market is proving attractive despite potential security concerns.

Other airlines have also recently announced plans to increase their presence in Israel. Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) is set to restart operations on October 26, 2026, with four weekly flights between Tel Aviv and Copenhagen. Additionally, Wizz Air has substantially increased its flight frequency to Israel.

The return of international carriers is seen as a positive sign for the Israeli tourism and travel sector, indicating a growing confidence in the country's stability and appeal as a destination.
