Sun D'Or Resumes Direct Flights to Marrakech Following Abraham Accords
Sun D'Or, a subsidiary of El Al, is set to relaunch direct flights from Israel to Marrakech, Morocco, starting November 16. The flights will operate twice weekly, on Mondays and Wednesdays, contingent on receiving necessary approvals. Introductory fares begin at $599 for a round-trip ticket under the LITE fare, which includes only a carry-on suitcase and hand luggage.
Morocco has become a renewed tourist destination for Israelis in recent years, facilitated by the Abraham Accords. However, flight operations to the country were suspended on October 7, 2023, due to security and political considerations, as well as fluctuating demand. Sun D'Or's resumption of the route follows similar moves by Arkia and Israir, which restarted their flights to Marrakech in August.
The Marrakech route is part of Sun D'Or's expanded winter schedule, which includes 12 other destinations. These include Larnaca and Paphos in Cyprus, Batumi and Tbilisi in Georgia, Tirana in Albania, Chisinau in Moldova, Belgrade in Serbia, Warsaw and Krakow in Poland, Salzburg in Austria, Lyon in France, and Verona in Italy.
