Sun D'Or Launches Direct Flights to Marrakech Amid Growing Competition

Sun D'Or, an El Al subsidiary, is set to launch direct flights to Marrakech, Morocco, starting November 16. This move intensifies competition on the route, as Arkia Airlines resumed services to the destination in late August. Sun D'Or will operate two weekly flights on Mondays and Wednesdays.

The introductory price for a round-trip LITE ticket, including a carry-on and a trolley bag, will be $599. Flights to Morocco were previously suspended due to security concerns in Israel, despite improving diplomatic relations. The re-establishment of direct flights by two airlines now offers Israeli travelers more options for price, schedule, and ticket conditions.

Marrakech serves as a gateway for exploring other parts of Morocco, making the route attractive for tourists planning wider travel within the country, not just for those staying in the city. This new route adds to Sun D'Or's winter schedule, which includes 13 destinations such as Larnaca and Paphos in Cyprus, Batumi and Tbilisi in Georgia, Tirana in Albania, Chisinau in Moldova, Belgrade in Serbia, Warsaw and Krakow in Poland, Salzburg in Austria, Lyon in France, and Verona in Italy.
