Sun D'Or to Launch Direct Flights to Marrakech This Winter
Sun D'Or, a subsidiary of El Al, announced it will launch direct flights to Marrakech, Morocco, starting November 16, 2026. The flights will operate twice weekly, on Mondays and Wednesdays, with introductory round-trip fares starting at $599 for the LITE fare, which includes a carry-on suitcase and hand luggage. Marrakech is highlighted as an ideal winter destination due to its mild desert climate, vibrant markets, stunning palaces, and proximity to the Atlas Mountains.
This new route adds to Sun D'Or's winter schedule, which will feature 13 destinations, including Batumi, Tbilisi, Verona, Salzburg, Warsaw, Paphos, Larnaca, and Lyon. Passengers will also be able to earn and redeem points through El Al's "Matmid" frequent flyer club.
Gal Gershon, CEO of Sun D'Or, expressed enthusiasm for the expansion, stating, "We are happy to expand and diversify Sun D'Or's destination map for the Israeli public. Based on demand, we will operate direct flights to Marrakech, an exotic city full of markets and fascinating culture unlike anywhere else."
The launch of the Marrakech route follows Sun D'Or's recent expansion, including the introduction of new flights to Verona, Italy, beginning October 25, 2026. These flights to Verona will also run twice weekly (Sundays and Thursdays) with introductory fares starting at $299 for a round-trip LITE ticket.
