Police Officer Injured After Being Dragged by Suspect's Car in Rishon LeZion

A police officer in Rishon LeZion sustained minor injuries on Monday evening when she attempted to apprehend a suspect involved in property crimes. The incident, captured on video, shows the officer clinging to the suspect's vehicle as he tried to flee, before she was thrown onto the road. The suspect, a man in his 20s from Or Yehuda, was later arrested following a police manhunt.

The encounter began when two officers on administrative duty identified the suspect, who is wanted for questioning in connection with various thefts and burglaries. When the officers approached his vehicle and asked for identification, the suspect entered his car and attempted to escape. One officer tried to prevent his departure by grabbing onto the car door.

The suspect drove off with the officer still attached to the vehicle. She eventually fell and was injured, receiving medical treatment. Following the incident, police launched an extensive search for the suspect. He was located and apprehended through operational activity and taken in for questioning.

On Tuesday, the police were expected to request an extension of the suspect's detention from the Rishon LeZion Magistrate's Court, pending the ongoing investigation.
