Maccabi Tel Aviv Dominates Hapoel Tel Aviv in 4-1 Derby Victory
Maccabi Tel Aviv secured their fourth consecutive win to start the Israeli league season, decisively defeating rivals Hapoel Tel Aviv 4-1 in a Tel Aviv derby. Dor Peretz opened the scoring for Maccabi in the 18th minute, but Stav Touriel equalized for Hapoel in the 33rd. Just three minutes later, Osher Davida restored Maccabi's lead. Hapoel's hopes were further diminished when Touriel received a second yellow card and was sent off in first-half stoppage time.
Playing with a man advantage in the second half, Maccabi sealed their victory with late goals from Hisham Layous in the 88th minute and Elad Madmon in the 95th. The match experienced a brief interruption due to flares thrown onto the pitch from the stands.
Following this win, Maccabi Tel Aviv maintains a perfect record and leads the league standings, five points ahead of Hapoel. For Hapoel, who had conceded only two goals all season prior to the derby, this marks their first significant defeat since returning to the top division.
